Holmium-doped yttrium lithium fluoride
Material
Ho:YLF
Single crystalline holmium-doped yttrium lithium fluoride rods (Ho:YLF or Ho3+:LiYF4) are used in solid-state lasers for industrial, medical and scientific purposes. Pure YLF crystals are transparent within the spectral band from 0.12µm to 7.5µm. They are also resistant to light, heat and radiation. The YLF crystals have a low refractive index and thermo-optical contants and are used in research, development, production, photonics, optics, laser technology and telecommunications.
Applications for typical Er:YLF, Ho:YLF and Tm:YLF products are listed below:
- Highly sensitive detection/distance measurement systems (Ho:YLF – 0.75µm and Er:YLF – 0.85µm)
- Target illumination systems that are harmless to the eyes (Er:YLF – 1.73µm)
- Complex measuring systems with the following wavelengths
- :Er:YLF – 0.85µm and 1.73µm
- Ho:YLF – 0.75µm and 0.98µm
- Tm:YLF – 1.89µm and 2.35µm
- Beam guidance systems (Ho:YLF – 3.9µm)
