Neodymium doped yttrium fluoride (Nd:_LiYF4 or Nd:YLF) is a crystal with laser wavelengths of 1047nm and 1053nm. Its main advantages are: large fluorescence linewidths, low thermal lensing, low threshold for cw applications and naturally polarized oscillation, which makes Nd:YLF an excellent material for both cw and mode-locked operation.
