Barium fluoride

Material

BaF2

Barium fluoride (BaF2) has a high transmission in the wavelength range between 0.14 µm and 14 µm. The proportion of transmission drops sharply towards the respective edges, see spectral properties.

IMPEX manufactures barium fluoride optics exclusively from crystals of the highest quality, which are grown using the Czrochalski or Bridgman method. Barium fluoride optics are available in both monocrystalline and polycrystalline versions.

Barium fluoride optics are used in thermography and in drying systems. Barium fluoride is also suitable as a scintillator material.
