LIBS
LIBS (Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy)
LIBS-handheld devices are ideal for the precise analysis of steels and alloys outside the laboratory, where a laser pulse is directed onto the surface of the sample and generates a plasma. The spectral components of the sample surface can be analyzed with sub-nm precision using the characteristic line radiation of the plasma.
A quick evaluation of the components provides qualitative and quantitative information about the alloy used. A comparison with the individually pre-installed database provides the most precise material information.
The composition is evaluated in just 1 second, can be viewed via the 127 mm wide touchscreen display and forwarded directly to other systems.
Device control via an additional app is also possible. The advantage of the mobile LIBS device is clearly its agile usability, allowing you to examine your samples on the spot without having to carry out time-consuming sample preparation beforehand. The use of low pulse energies prevents strong effects in the material and ensures reliable measurement results.
